Radon in foundation design

Radon is increasingly being included in foundation design requirements, particularly in projects where an effective barrier against ground gases is necessary.

In response to design inquiries, we carried out radon diffusion tests for GXP® PLUS and FORST® BOR membranes.
The testing was conducted in an accredited laboratory in accordance with ISO/TS 11665-13.
The results confirm a very high resistance to radon migration — especially for GXP® PLUS, which achieved parameters that significantly exceed the standard expectations for foundation protection materials.

What does this mean in practice?

  • effective limitation of radon penetration from the ground,
  • suitability for projects with elevated performance requirements,
  • stable, predictable parameters resulting from the homogeneous material structure,
  • data that can be directly incorporated into technical documentation and specifications.

The full test documentation will be published on the Griltex website.
