Modern tram infrastructure in Warsaw

Modern tram infrastructure is not only about tracks and concrete, but also about technologies responsible for the durability of the entire construction system and effective water management.

During the construction of the new tram line in Warsaw, connecting the area of Warszawa Zachodnia station with Grójecka Street, carried out by ZUE S.A.
and Fabe Polska Sp. z o.o.

Griltex geosynthetic solutions have been used to support the construction of the green tram track system.

The photos show:

  • drainage layer based on dimpled membrane
  • separation and filtration geotextile
  • preparation of the green tram track structure

In projects like this, key factors include:

  • effective drainage of the structure
  • separation and stabilization of layers
  • water retention and flow control
  • long-term durability in heavily used urban infrastructure

Today, green tram tracks are not only an aesthetic element, but also an important part of sustainable urban design and responsible stormwater management.
