Case Study with PNUIK Kraków Sp. z o.o. The stability and durability of railway subgrades are key to safe and cost-effective track operation. One of the proven solutions in railway engineering are polypropylene geotextiles, which provide separation, filtration, and reinforcement functions.
In cooperation with PNUIK Kraków Sp. z o.o., our materials were applied in the repair of damaged subgrades. The use of geotextiles enabled:
- uniform distribution of dynamic loads from train traffic,
- prevention of mixing between soil and ballast layers,
- improved bearing capacity and structural stability,
- extended service life of tracks between maintenance intervals.
By integrating geosynthetics with modern track repair technologies (including the AHM-800R subgrade repair train), the works could be carried out efficiently, even under demanding field conditions.
Griltex geotextiles are widely used in railway infrastructure – both in the construction of new lines and in the modernization of existing ones.
This project once again demonstrates that properly selected geosynthetics are not an addition but a structural element determining the durability and safety of civil engineering works.
